    1. Probably 26 to be honest. Pretty interchangeable with those around the bottom based off the strength of The Zone of Interest, Anatomy of a Fall, and Toni Erdmann.

    2. I think your suggestion is pretty spot-on actually, I believe I miscalculated her value in my points system. I’ll be updating this list shortly with a couple of other omissions.

  1. I’d say Elle Fanning is more impressive in 20th Century Women than she is either A Complete Unknown(weakest among the main cast clearly) and The Beguiled.

  2. I’d say Elle Fanning is more impressive in 20th Century Women than she is in either A Complete Unknown(weakest among the main cast clearly) and The Beguiled.

  3. Should be noted Sally Hawkins is getting raves for her performance in Bring Her Back released in theatres before this list was published.

      1. Not a great a film. But it’s tough to say Hawkins is better in things like Spencer, Paddington 2, or Wonka for that matter over her performance in the recent Stephen Frears film The Lost King.

  4. Yes of course. The Lost King is worth watching. Frears has done interesting films for years now even though this was not one of his better works. The lack of award buzz was surprising given this is Stephen Frears.

    1. She’s been very solid recently, but I’m not sure she has really stood out above the others listed here. What do you think has been her best performance in recent years?

      1. The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun, The Beast, Crimes of the Future? Steals her scenes in Dune: Part Two. One of the best actresses of her generation.

      2. I still think her best performance is Blue is the Warmest Colour, which just falls outside the timeframe. Without having seen The Beast, I recognise she’s solid in those others, but none really stand among their respective year’s best performances. Her strength is more that she shines in modest parts.
